  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 3 cups mixed apples (Granny Smith and Honeycrisp), peeled and sliced
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out half of your chilled pie crust and place it in a pie dish.
  2. In a bowl, combine sliced apples with both sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  3. Fill the pie crust with the apple mixture; dot with butter and cover with the second layer of crust. Cut slits for steam to escape.
  4. Bake for about 45-50 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly.
  5. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth, then drizzle over the warm pie before serving.
