  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook elbow macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente (7-8 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour to create a roux; cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Stir in shredded cheddar until melted.
  4. Combine cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce until well-coated.
