  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni in boiling salted water until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, whisk in flour until smooth, then gradually add milk until thickened. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted.
  3. Combine cooked macaroni with cheese sauce in a bowl; add the beaten egg and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Scoop mixture into one-inch balls and coat in panko breadcrumbs.
