Description

Smashburgers are the ultimate comfort food that combines a crispy exterior with a juicy interior. Perfectly seared on high heat, these burgers are smashed to create a delightful crust while locking in all the savory goodness of the beef.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 4 brioche or potato burger buns
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • Toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions
  • Condiments: ketchup, mustard

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by slicing vegetables and setting out cheese.
  2. Preheat your grill or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  3. Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and roll into loose balls.
  4. Place each ball on the hot grill or skillet and smash down gently with a spatula to about half-inch thickness; season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook for about 2 minutes until juices appear on top, then add cheese slices before flipping.
  6. Lightly toast buns if desired, then assemble with desired toppings and sauces.
