Description

Vegan Kimchi Dumplings (Mandu) are a flavorful treat that brings a burst of spice and umami to your table. These delightful dumplings are filled with high-quality vegan kimchi, firm tofu, and fresh vegetables, all wrapped in delicate dumpling skins. Whether enjoyed as an appetizer or a main dish, they’re perfect for impressing friends or savoring during a cozy night in. Serve them hot with soy sauce for dipping, and watch your loved ones delight in each bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup high-quality vegan kimchi
  • 1 cup firm tofu (pressed and crumbled)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 24 dumpling wrappers
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Water (for steaming)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a large bowl, combine crumbled tofu, kimchi, green onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well.
  2. Assemble the dumplings: Place about one tablespoon of filling on each dumpling wrapper. Wet the edges with water and fold to create a half-moon shape, pinching tightly to seal.
  3. Cook the dumplings: Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Fry dumplings in batches until golden brown on one side (about 3-4 minutes).
  4. Steam: Add approximately 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and cover immediately with a lid. Steam for about 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Serve warm with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
